Concert for Peace

Writer: Musica MundiMusica Mundi

On Sunday December 15th, young talents from Musica Mundi School had the privilege of performing at the Great Synagogue in Brussels, on the occasion of the synagogue’s Concert for Peace.

The school’s mission to function as an instrument for peace was built into its foundations in a very real way. Back in 2016, The Archdiocese of Mechelen, looking for a new function for Fichermont Monastery, built on the battlefield of Waterloo as a monument to peace, heard about the Musica Mundi School project and offered the building to the school, bringing together students from throughout the world, irrespective of race, religion, background to celebrate the world through their music.

The synagogue was packed with a warm and appreciative audience and the exchanges between audience and young musicians after the concert provided a very special moment.
