Our third and last day in this magical city, on Thursday 6th, took us first to the Mercado Boqueria, an amazing and colourful food market where students enjoyed a wide range of tasty drinks and snacks.
Lunch was served in the Poble Espanyole before we headed to the Miro museum and then for a ride up Montjuic in the cable car.
The views over Barcelona and the sea were simply stunning.
And then, the apotheosis of the trip with a fabulous piano recital given by Yvgeny Kissin at the amazing Palao de la Musica, where we all sat on the stage, close enough to see and savour every detail of this great artist’s playing. After the concert, Maestro Kissin came to greet us on stage, a unique moment indeed !
And now, on the way back with so many memories, we wish to thank all those who made this trip unforgettable, Bernard Meillat and Nuria Ballester, the Atenea String Quartet, the artistic director of the Palao de la Musica, all the guides along the way, Max Zimermann and Vincent Panepinto from TV COM and naturally both our drivers, Benoit and Thomas and… WOLFGANG, our unstoppable guide !!!!
El Vendrell and Barcelona - you will remain in our memories for a very long time !
