Paris – A Wonderful Second Day!

The second day of our annual school trip to Paris began with a visit to the magnificent Notre-Dame Cathedral. What a powerful experience to step inside this iconic landmark and admire its beauty, history and many wonders!
From Notre-Dame, we were lucky enough to arrive just in time to board a Bateau Mouche for a wonderful cruise along the River Seine. Once again, just like the day before, the weather was on our side: blue skies, sunshine and simply breathtaking views of Paris from the water!
After an hour on the river, we headed to another traditional Parisian restaurant for a delicious lunch. Recharged and ready for more discoveries, we then made our way to a fascinating and perhaps lesser-known gem: the Musée de la Vie Romantique.
Through its paintings, stories and atmosphere, we discovered the remarkable encounters that took place here during the Romantic period. Artists, philosophers, writers and musicians such as Frédéric Chopin, George Sand and Franz Liszt were among the personalities who frequented these circles, sharing ideas, performing and engaging in lively discussions.
We also took the opportunity to explore the surrounding streets, discovering the houses and neighborhoods once inhabited by some of the great painters, musicians and performers of 19th-century Paris.
And then… it was time for Montmartre! With its charming streets, spectacular views over Paris and, of course, the magnificent Sacré-Cœur Basilica.
And then, another magical moment of the day happened as, at the foot of the Sacré-Cœur, with the whole of Paris stretching out before them, the Musica Mundi School choir burst into song. A surprise performance in a most iconic setting!
Our action-packed day came to an end with dinner at another typical Parisian restaurant. But the day wasn't over just yet… because music was once again on the programme!
This time, we were immersed in the world of Chanson Française, and more particularly in the timeless music of Édith Piaf. Our MMS students joined the wonderful singer and sang along to some of the legendary songs that have made French music so famous around the world.
What a way to end another incredible day in Paris!
Culture, history, friendship, sunshine and, above all, music… Memories that will stay with us for a very long time! 🎶❤️🇫🇷
