Our third day of this Paris school trip began with a walking tour of the unique and charming Quartier Latin, exploring its distinctive architecture, the Sorbonne, the Panthéon, and so much more.

And, of course, what has already become a lovely tradition on our trips: the MMS Choir singing in a church! This time, our students had the pleasure of performing in the beautiful Saint-Étienne-du-Mont Church, much to the delight of the people present and our dear friends – or, as we like to call them, our “groupies”! This wonderful group of friends and supporters of our school has been following us on our school trips for several years now, and it is always such a joy to have them with us.

Our walking tour ended with a picnic in the magnificent Jardin du Luxembourg. And for the third day in a row, you guessed it… UNDER A SUNNY SKY! ☀️And the groupies has provided a thoughtful sweet addition to our picnic which was much appreciated by everyone!

The afternoon was dedicated to a visit to the Louvre Museum, which naturally included time to admire da Vinci’s iconic Mona Lisa! As we stood in the sun before the visit, it was Wolfgang’s turn to provide a kind and thoughtful sweet treat - fabulous Parisian macaroons which the students were only too happy to taste!

After an early dinner at a restaurant near the Arc de Triomphe, we headed to the splendid Philharmonie de Paris for one of the highlights of the trip - a concert featuring none other than Alexandre Kantorow, performing Brahms's Piano Concerto No. 1, accompanied by the Orchestra of Europe under the baton of Antonio Pappano. What a privilege to listen to the artistry of this remarkable pianist and to witness the power of Pappano’s unique conducting style in the Brahms and then the Dvorak’s 7th Symphony.

What an extraordinary concert! The students were wildly enthusiastic and deeply grateful to these outstanding musicians for their inspirational performances.

And thus, another wonderful day came to a beautiful end!
